My iPhone Story

I am a gadgets & bike crazy person. I don't know how this sounds, but I spend less time and money in buying clothes, shoes or anything for myself. I am actually less bothered you know as to how I look. I spend more time and money on my bike and gadgets. At least for me these so called material things hold a special place in my heart.

I love Apple products. I am a loyalist. Rarely you see a company that speaks of giving customer a truly great product. How many times we have seen companies saying, customer is important for us, they motivate us, they are the the king and all those stuff. But it's all fake and just on paper. These things are true until they sell their product but after that, the consumer have to run around.

There is a reason why I love Apple products. Show me a product where customers would line up in front of a store for 3 days, day and night just to buy a product (Check out this nice video by Apple http://www.apple.com/iphone/#launch )
As Steve Jobs said in his own words, "Customers are smart" For me buying an Apple product goes beyond just going to a store and buying one. I am glad and honoured that I lived in a period when some amazing products were launched by an equally amazing genius called, Steve Jobs.

I am fortunate enough to use some of the Apple products. I started using iPod touch from 2008 onwards and trust me till today, even after 4 years its screen is amazing, feels sturdy when you hold it and the quality of the screen can be comparable to recently launched any new smart phone in the market. That's quality for you, no compromise in that. I am a kind of person who like to pay extra money if someone gives me a great product or provides a great service. If you see any of Steve Jobs video or interview you can make out how passionate he his about to give great products to consumers. He never speaks about profit or revenue like other founders. His goal was straight and simple, how good the product can be made and how can we keep on improving the utility of the product. He lived by the mantra, "Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication"

Trust me the user interface of all the Apple products is unbeatable. I have heard people saying that the software of Apple products is complicated. Well, I have only one thing to say, just use it to know what it is. Some of Apple's or rather Steve Jobs philosophy exactly fits to my way of thinking or living, like simplicity, beautiful and minimalistic design and making things simple. Yes, Apple products are costly like their laptops which start from Rs. 60,000 where as you can buy two reasonable laptops of any other company for that price.

When iPhone was first launched and during its successive launches, I used to think, when will I be able to buy an iPhone for me. Remember it was not about whether to buy or not, but instead it was about when to buy. Then in October 2011, Steve Jobs passed away. Then I decided if there is any way I can pay my tribute to Steve Jobs then it would only be by buying an Apple product. You can call me crazy or weird but I like it that way. Then the day came, where I felt like an enthusiastic kid who wanted a toy for which he waited for years. It was an emotional moment.

At last I decided it is time for me hold that beautiful aluminum piece in my hand. It was Nov 19, 2012 at around 7 pm I called up some stores to check if they have one, but they said it will take another 15 days. Then I called an Apple premium reseller, Imagine store and they said, in next 10 minutes the stock is coming. I was elated. I just told them to keep a 16 GB, black color iPhone 5 separately for me and in half an hour will be there to pick it up. I love black color. With the curiosity of a kid, I went there and bought an iPhone 5...:) When I held it for the first time, I felt on top of the world...:) It's difficult to explain that amazing feeling through words. And I finally said, Thank You Steve Jobs...:)

The main intention of writing this blog is to convey two things:
- When you truly love something and
- You have the resources to buy it,
then just go ahead, because if its not now then its never gonna be in future.

I would like to conclude by saying one thing,
"This Apple is never gonna rotten, but it only gets better with time"

    1. On the contrary Binu, I don't hate Samsung. In a way I respect them for coming up with some products with great features..:) If there is any company that gave competition for Apple then it was Samsung. Yes, I am a Apple loyalist but don't hate Samsung at all. It's a great company and S3 is good product...:)

Firstly sorry I never read this post, because I was not coming on the blog very often, and when I did, I mostly read the takes on the rape case.
And secondly, thank you for putting that comment on my blog, else would have missed this altogether!

You know what is missing in this post? A photo of you with that phone! Put that please!

I know how men can be with gadgets, I had gifted hubby the samsung galaxy s2 last yr, and he acted as if on top of the world. But we do the same for diamonds, so I guess we are equal :-)

and as usual you end your post with a befitting one liner. You know one post should have all your one liners uptil now !
