Corporate Spying - Using Students

A new method is being followed in the corporate world to beat the competition, that is 'Corporate Spying'. Let me explain: For Ex. Assume there are two companies 'A' and 'B', which are rival companies. Now 'A' company goes to a B-school and hires a candidate to do some project work. Then after hiring, they ask him/her to go to 'B' Co., to get as much information (products to be launched, business plans, etc.) as possible. The candidate blindly accepts it for some amount of money.

The candidate goes to 'B' Co., not as an employee of 'A' Co., but as a student of a B-school. He/She asks the 'B' Co. that he/she is doing a project work in their B-school, so they want to know more about the company. The 'B' Co., without knowing that he/she is an employee of 'A' Co., gives access to all the vital information. The 'A' Co., even asks the candidate to do a 1-year internship in 'B' Co., just to get that information.

The Industry players and the Head of top B-schools were shocked that this is happening here. They were even more shocked, when they came to know that students are being used as spies. Just to be ahead of everyone, some companies, especially smaller ones, are using this route. According to me this doesn't show a better future for India and particularly for us, the youth. The B-schools must teach some Ethics to the students. Who is to be blamed, the Co. hiring such candidates or the Cut-throat competition or the rapid Globalization or the students. What do you think? Is this the way forward or is there a better future.
