I like to be simple and keep things simple. I feel we humans always hesitate to appreciate. Whether it is about things or about people. I love appreciating people when they do something nice or good no matter how small it is and also when I find something to be appreciated even if it has nothing to do with me. You are just reciprocating a kind act done by another person.
I started blogging in July, 2011 and the journey till now has been great. I like to specially mention about a person who has helped me in more ways than one to be a better blogger. When I started blogging, I knew what to blog about but didn't know how to go about it. The person I am referring to is Chintan Gupta. (http://chintangupta.blogspot.in/). Its so easy for us overlook some small good things done to us by people whom we have never met or interacted with. She was the first person, if my memory is correct, I added to my network on Indiblogger. She immediately reciprocated by adding me to her network. I don't remember exactly but she was one of the first three subscribers to my blog.
I remember when I started following her blog she had around 160 subscribers and now she has 449 subscribers. That speaks for itself. When I started blogging, I didn't know about themes, widgets, gadgets and all other stuff on blogger. She offered to help me. She tweeted my blogs links, she asked me to join Twitter and I am glad that because of she sharing my blog links, people read my blogs. This tanslated into some becoming my blog subscribers and some followed me on Twitter. I didn't know how I am gonna fit into the twitter world but kind of enjoying whatever I tweet. At one time I had an embarrassing situation on twitter where in my followers were more than my tweets...:P
She started a page on FB where she recommends some blogs which are underrated and needs to be recognized. Of all the blogs I read, I just adore one blog which I came across through her FB page. It is a comic blog and the author is Rahul Bhandare (http://comicspace4.blogspot.in/). If you visit his blog you will be smiling all the way. What I like the most about his blog is the simplicity and the way he communicates things.
She doesn't lose or gain by sharing or not sharing others' blogs. Its very kind of her to do so. It is very difficult to convert thoughts into words which she does so beautifully. Read her blogs and you will know the reason. I have not read her every blog but the ones which I have read I have learnt a lot. It may be the kind of blogs, the amount of research she does or the flow of thoughts in her blogs, its just nice to read them. It feels good. Thanks to her blogs, the way I understand blogs, the way I right these days I can clearly make out the difference. My english is good which needs improvement especially the grammer thing and have learnt some things from her blogs.
Well everyone knows about her, if not personally atleast through her blogs. She writes on issues, some thought provoking ones, some testing the depth of your thoughts, some on current issues, takes a stand wherever she feels, comments frankly, helps if you have any queries. I always like and have great respect for people who are frank and honest. These days honesty is a rare commodity, only those who follow know its value. Well it may not help you to satisfy the world but surely helps to satisfy oneself which is very important. I am inspired by her way of writing, her thought process and those striking on the face one-liners if I can call it to be.
I don't know much about her personally and have never met her nor seen her (except through her pics). I don't know will I ever meet her in person. But I believe that a blog is the closest thing otherwise than to meeting a person face to face. After all, a blog is all about reflection of one's thoughts. I have interacted with her on some occasions via mail and its been good. I am a firm believer that if someone is kind to you then a token of appreciation is a must. Appreciate not because you want to satisfy that person, but because you want to and you like to.
To appreciate you just need some minutes and some words that's it, nothing much. Remember, one honest appreciation is worth more than any number of fake appreciation. You can fake but not for long. The other person is smart enough to understand this, if not immediately but surely later. Don't appreciate if you don't fully feel so. If I want to appreciate something or someone, I make sure I do so wholeheartedly. Otherwise a strange kind of guilt will be there in my heart.
As I finish writing this blog, I was smiling all the way and enjoyed every bit if it because she deserves an Honest appreciation and I felt good writing about her...:) So go ahead and appreciate those people who have helped you but never seen or met them and most importantly, Keep it Simple...:)
If I have to summarize this blog in one sentence then it would be,
"Inspired writing about the Inspirer"
Smile Please,
Prashanth.
