Those dried leaves were lying all over the place
They were trying to convey something
Some are dead and others were dying
As I hold them to talk to,
they smiled at me even at the time of their death
I didn't know what to make of it
I smiled at them and moved on
Then I wondered,
I smiled at them and moved on
Then I wondered,
if they can smile even at the time of their death,
why can't we when we have so much to live for.
Keep Smiling,
Prashanth.

So profound PK...
ReplyDeleteIndeed we have all the reasons to smile and still we overshadow them with our frowns :)
Yep, hope we overcome all those negatives and look at life in a better way...:)
DeleteFirst I was attracted by the title which has this unique literature like quality in it.
ReplyDeleteSecond, what a beautiful thought portrayed in this poem.
Beautiful!!!
Thanks for those kind words Saru...your comment made my day...:)
DeleteOh wow. Speechless. This one is a winner all along!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny, really appreciate it...:)
DeleteA Leaf's life is not as complicated as ours, I guess.. Unlike us, they have a clear mandate. We make life so complicated that we ourselves don't know if we should smile over happiness or feel sad over issues..
ReplyDeleteNice post dost! :)
I feel for us, nature is the best teacher. It's just that we make our lives complicated. Even among us, we see some who live a simple uncomplicated life. After all its a choice which we make that decides how we gonna live our lives....:)
DeleteEven ppl kept them in books,, they are so valuable and memories of love and life,,
ReplyDeleteYep I have seen it...thanks for the comment...:)
